Director of Music and Worship
Psalm 98:4 & 8
"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music."
"Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy"
Perhaps you've been sensing the Lord leading you to join a choir. If that's the case, see below for the lineup of choral opportunities available to you and your family members.
Cathedral Choir (Adults) - Thursdays 7:15 - 9:00 pm
This choir serves as the primary worship choir singing each Sunday and is open to high school age to adult. Special plans this season include a choir Retreat in October and a special Christmas Program accompanied by a full orchestra. Stylistically, we strive to perform a broad spectrum of musical styles, from classical to contemporary.
Songbirds! (Seniors) - Thursdays 2:30-3:30 pm
Songbirds is a just-for-fun singing group that meets weekly to sing hymn favorites, old time gospel songs, familiar sing-along songs, show tunes and popular songs through the ages. It is very casual and loosely structured. (We use lyric sheets, so you don't need to read music). Once we get established we will travel to local care facilities once or twice a month to entertain the residents.
Soloists are often sought to offer their talents in worship, representing the congregation to the Lord. If you feel led to this ministry please talk to Paul Ferris.
Instrumentalists are also needed at various times of the year to possibly play in an orchestra, instrumental ensemble, or as a soloist. We believe that God gave us instruments as well as voices to sound His praise. If you are talented in this area please speak to Paul Ferris.
